The Acura Automobile Divison was launched in March of 1986 by the Japan-based automaker Honda Motor Company.  Acura became the first luxury japanease automaker to sell automobiles in North America.  In 1994 Acura sold its one-millionth vehicle.  Acura has become one of the best-selling luxury import nameplates in the United States today.
